EVENTS

The network hosts events to bring together researchers, policy-makers, and reflective practitioners. A distinctive element is the inclusion of young people from each of these 'sectors' - for example, research students, young people working in faith based settings and young people who are active in politics or policy settings.

The events are opportunities to hear about existing research relating to young people and faith, network with people and organizations, and - crucially - to hear from young people about their views on the kinds of research questions, methods and purposes they think are important.

Events include presentations from researchers about their projects and discussion groups between researchers, policy makers and practitioners about topical and pressing issues. Previous topics include:

  • Faith and political participation
  • The role of faith in the formation of young people's identities
  • Intergenerational transmission of religious beliefs and practices
  • Faith and community cohesion
  • Religion and sexuality
  • Bringing the study of religion to life through research
